The boat trip continues to a small bay for swim and BBQ. Next to Agios Nikolaos with its elegant inner harbor and bottom-‐less lake so called the Saint Tropez of Crete and home to many charming cafes and restaurants. The city’s most famous landmark is a small lake in the center of the city at the foot of a cliff – the lake, known as “Voulismeni,” is where the goddess, Athena, used to bathe. Also noteworthy here, in the capital of Eastern Crete, are the Archeological Museum and the cathedral, just southwest of the lake on Platia Venizelou
Either board the boat from the port of Agios Nikolaos or the port of Elounda (weather depended ) and visit the Island of Spinalonga
Walk the Village of Plaka ( Victoria Hislop’s book was made into a series and filmed in Plaka Village) or Elounda and get a taste of how the locals spend their day there. Don’t worry you will have a photo stop on the top of the Elounda Bay.
